Frequently asked questions.
Everything customers ask before booking — answered the way we'd want it answered.
The essentials.
How much do painters and decorators cost?
Every job is different, so we price each one individually on room sizes, surface condition and the finish you want. Send photos and rough sizes on WhatsApp and we'll come back with a free fixed quote — no hidden extras, no obligation.
How long does it take to paint a room?
A typical bedroom or living room takes 1–2 days including proper prep and two coats. Ceilings, woodwork and wallpaper stripping add time — your quote always comes with a clear timeframe.
Do you supply the paint?
Either works. We supply quality trade paint — Dulux, Crown, Johnstone's or a brand you choose — as part of your quote, or you can buy your own and we'll tell you exactly how much you need with our paint calculator.
Do I need to move out while you work?
No. We work room by room, keep everything protected with dust sheets and masking, and tidy up at the end of every day — most customers live around us comfortably.
Is preparation included?
Always. Filling cracks, sanding, caulking gaps and spot-priming are part of every quote. Prep is 80% of a great finish, so it's the one thing we never skip.
Are you insured?
Yes — every job is carried out by decorators with public liability insurance. If you need documentation for a landlord or managing agent, just ask.
When is the best time for exterior painting?
Late spring to early autumn is ideal — surfaces need to be dry and above about 10°C. We'll advise honestly if your job should wait for better weather.
Do you cover my area?
Yes — we cover every borough and neighbourhood across London through our network of local decorators. Find your area on our areas page for local details.
